Swim Wales Open Masters 2016

Carmarthenshire Masters swimmers again really enjoyed the Swim Wales Open Masters Championship held in Swansea over the weekend of 5-6 March 2016.

Entry was much higher than in previous years, with many events oversubscribed, and hence the level competition much stronger. Nonetheless, our club swimmers won both individual and relay medals across a range of events.

Special congratulations go to Sian for taking the meet record in the 50m butterfly (women, 30-34).

Postal Swim 2015

Our annual Postal Swim encourages swimmers to participate in longer distance swims and compete in the 800m and 1500m events that are often not included in gala programmes.

Either of both these distances are swum at your convenience in your local pool and times are submitted by post. All masters or senior age group swimmers registered with their national governing body are eligible to take part.

All money raised by the Postal Swim is donated to the Old Mill Foundation in memory of Elwyna Thomas, Carmarthenshire Masters Swimmer.

Swim Wales Open Masters 2015

Club members had a great weekend of competition at the Swim Wales Open Masters on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 March 2015 in Swansea. Lots of individual medals were won and the club put up some great relay teams.

The highlight of the weekend was the Men's 200m Freestyle Relay which was neck and neck all the way against Swansea Aquatics. Chip Keen put extraordinary effort into the final length finishing 0.2 seconds ahead.

Congratulations to everyone involved!

Postal Swim 2014 Results

Our annual Postal Swim is now complete and we thank all those who took part.

The results are available here: Postal Swim 2014 Results.

Once again, we have donated all entry fees to the “Old Mill Cancer Foundation”.  The late Elwyna Thomas, a former Carmarthenshire Masters swimmer who always competed in the Postal Swim, requested that we support this charity.  The Foundation provided her and her family with wonderful support until she sadly passed away in October 2009.

We look forward to continuing the Postal Swim in 2015 and details will be available in June 2015.
